Hey everyone. Long time no post! Here are few updates…
Feb 2026 – I played the keyboard part in Simon Steen-Anderson’s delightful Black Box Music for New Music Concerts. Also got to premiere a great work by Rashaan Allwood.
Apr 2026 – I played some Claude Vivier and Nicole Lizée with my pals Noam Bierstone and Carla Huhtanen for Soundstreams Canada in Toronto, Chicoutimi, QC and for New Music Dublin in Dublin, Ireland. Also conducted Outside Hollow for Continuum Contemporary Music with the great guitarist Rob MacDonald (and guest pianist Jesse Plessis!) and music directed the workshop production of Afarin Mansouri’s The Refugees for Cultureland Opera.
In May/June I was playing piano for Tapestry Opera/Canadian Opera Company’s production of Ten Days in a Madhouse by Rene Orth and Hannah Moscovich. Killer opera, killer cast, killer band. It is a remarkable piece. I am so lucky to get to be able to work on such interesting contemporary work. I then left to do some teaching at the Banff Centre in their Summer Opera Program. Maybe the best job in the world?
Summer also means the beginning of Summer Music in the Garden, the music series I have been curating with Harbourfront Centre in Toronto’s Music Garden for the past 6 years. I really love being a part of this vital series.
